Just an okay flavor - mostly like seltzer.  This has barely any sangria taste.  Still, it passes as a decent soda.  Thank you to Ben Farber for finding this one for me!

Calpico – 1.5

This is a cultured milk drink from Japan.  Sure, it may not be soda to us in the US, but it was a drink and in a can.  It was also very carbonated.  The taste was just terrible as most milk drinks are to me.  Not as bad as Abali Yogurt Drink, but getting there.

Ramune Pineapple - 4

Maybe my hopes were too high when I saw this new flavor from the good people at Ramune.  I've been happy with the others.  This had the flavor of pineapple but it was just okay.  Otherwise it was just incredibly acidic.  Go with the original flavor.

Ramune Lychee - 5

This was the best lychee drink I've ever had. Unfortunately I haven't had many and it wasn't amazing. I still love the concept of Ramune.

Ramune Strawberry - 7

Ramune Strawberry

I picked this great Japanese soda up from Larry at the Plaza Deli in Santa Barbara. This soda has a great red color and tastes strongly of sweet strawberries - just what one would want and expect.

Quick tip for folks trying any Ramnue for the first time: pull the green plunger out of its perforated ring before popping into the top marble. Otherwise you're doomed for frustration or injury.

Suntory

Suntory : 12/31/2006: I'm not entirely sure what this is. It tastes like apple juice plus carbonation and maybe watermelon? Not my favorite but I LOVE the happy faces on the cover and the sad face on the cap. Big thanks to Ryan Newell for smuggling this in from Japan!

Ramune Peach

Ramune Peach : 6/27/2004: I love this marble - it has a system like the original ramune where you have to push a marble in that seals the freshness. The marble then prevents you from taking any more than a sip at a time - awesome. Great bottle design. The soda isn't bad, like sparkling peach water, but I'm not really that into peach water.

Ramune : 7/14/2003: Most aparent is the strange shape of the bottle that it comes in. It's ribbed at the top. Rather than twisting a cap, it has an attached stopper that you have to detatch and press into the bottle. Doing so releases the pressurized marble. This allows the drink to flow from the top. This is a lot of work for a stupid soda. It's not that tasty. It's very fruity, a bit overwhealming. The best part about this is the instructions not to place the cap, opener or marble in your mouth: do not try to remove the marble from the bottle to avoid injury. Hillarious!
