Jones Soda Antacid - 1 thumb up

Jones Antacid Soda was one of the holiday flavors in 2006. I have kept this very pink beverage in my garage fridge for years to show people but had to finally try it. It legitimately tastes like Pepto. If you like a chalky bismuth flavor, then this soda is for you. Novelty aside, it is gross.

Thank you to Billy Jankowski for this truly strange Russian soda.
I don't read Russian but am pretty sure that one of the ingredients says "elf root."
The closest flavor that I can consider this is peach. Mostly, it tastes like bile. Pick this soda up if only to check the ingredient list, but do not taste it.

Medovarus - 1

A very strange brown plastic bottle houses this honey brewed drink. I like honey normally, but wow. It tastes expired...

It also tastes like boiled honey and seltzer. Not a pleasant taste in a soda. Billy Jankowski found this in a Russian market in Arizona. A good find but a bad taste.

Vita Malt

Vita Malt : 2/7/2004: Ugh. Disgusting. 1 thumb up. They combine the terrible taste of malt with healthy vitamins! Vitamin B, actually. Very gross. Billy says "it smells like cat food." I had to spit it out and now I can't get the taste out of my mouth.

I wish I could find it in the US. Goya makes a similar malt that is not nearly as good. Ryan Rating: 7     - The vitamin flavor takes getting used to, but it is a good malta overall. Danny Rating: 5     - Actually it takes getting used to. You know, it's one of those drinks where the weather makes the difference. If you're in the Caribbean and it is hot and humid and you're working outside... a cold Vita Malt is refreshing and also kind of invigorating. It's a region thing... for a malt drink it's pretty good in my opinion!

SanBitter : 6/22/2003: In its little red bottle it seems like it could be a strawberry or cherry drink. Boy was I wrong! This is the worst tasting, most bitter drink ever! At least there wasn't much to pour out! 1 thumb up. Ugh. I had to spit it out and wash my mouth out.

Pangle Heimers Gourmet Blush

Pangle Heimers Gourmet Blush : 3/28/2007: I like the dog on the label with his tongue sticking out. His name is Eskimo. This drink comes out of Charlotte, North Carolina. It has a nice clear color with a tint of pink. The flavor is a little too sophisticated for my palete, though. It smells and tastes like wine. I tasted it and had to spit it out.

Malta Hatuey

Malta Hatuey : 1/26/2004: Not since the Malta India that I had 5 minutes ago have I tasted such a terrible beverage. Also, a very malty-molasses taste. Just gross. 1 thumb up.

Maine Root Ginger Brew

Maine Root Ginger Brew : 9/2/2006: From Maine this soda was given to me by Billy Jankowski. Thanks Billy! It smells very much like ginger - enough to make me sneeze. Terrible taste. Wow. Enough such that I couldn't finish a shot of it. Yipes.

Absolutely horrible; the name applies to those who buy it!

Julmust

Julmust : 1/17/2004: Sweedish Kristall Julmust is a soda that I found at Ikea while waiting for food I cannot pronounce. It has a picture of an elf (santa?) on its label. Upon first smell, it is a fruity drink. Putting it in your mouth is an altogether different experience. It soaks into your tounge. The flavor is almost too strong to bear. It is a fruity taste. After spitting out the mouthful, I found that the taste just wouldn't go away. One thumb up for this potent soda.

Howies Lemon-Up : 6/15/2003: This lemonlime drink made me a little nauseous. It has a taste similar to 7-Up (influence for the name?) but it's less syrupy. It certainly didn't make me want to drink more.

Dry Essence Lemongrass : 7/18/2009: Imagine taking carbonated soda water, dropping in a hint of lemongrass, bottling it, then adding additional carbonation just before capping. Not a good soda.

D&G Jamaican Pinapple
