KingOfSoda.com

In 2003 I discovered Moxie after watching a segment on the Food network. This “new” soda opened my eyes to a world of different sodas that I had never heard of before. This site catalogs my ratings of each of these sodas. If you find any interesting sodas that are not on my list, I would love to try them. If you are interested in trying any of the sodas that I have here, let me know and I'll try to find one for you.

Java Pop Hazelnut - 4

Java Pop Hazelnut - 4
You can definitely taste the hazelnut over the coffee, but mostly because the coffee flavoring was too weak.  The sweetness of this soda is incredibly overpowering.

Java Pop Caramel - 3

I have to imagine that coffee flavor is something that a lot of independent soda makers want to try. I can remember being at the beach as a kid and someone handing me a small cup of "Coffee Cola." I was excited - how often are people handing out free soda? I was disappointed after tasting. I wasn't surprised what that particular brand never made it on the market. I was surprised by the various attempts that everyone has made. Few succeed. Java Pop angles on the sweet side of soda and goes too far, in my opinion. I should have suspected that caramel would be super-sugary.

Tasco Iced Coffee

Tasco Iced Coffee : 9/11/2005: This Hawaiian coffee comes in a small 8.5 oz can. A simple coffee taste with a slight aftertaste. Nice but nothing special.

Suntory Boss Coffee

Suntory Boss Coffee : 12/23/2004: Very similar to one of those Starbucks Frappuchino drinks, but in a small can. Very good coffee taste! Very little english on the can. Terrible aftertase.

Royal Mills Island Mocha

Royal Mills Island Mocha : 9/11/2005: An okay coffee drink, unlike its better brother, the cappuccino. Slight aftertaste.

Royal Mills Iced Cappuccino

Royal Mills Iced Cappuccino : 9/11/2005: Not bad at all - a nice iced coffee taste

Royal Mills Café Coconut

Royal Mills Café Coconut : 9/11/2005: A nice red can but no coconut taste at all. It says iced coffee, but quite milky. Not bad, but not what I thought it would be.

Royal Kona Mocha Latte

Royal Kona Mocha Latte : 4/17/2003: 8 thumbs up - this is great! It comes in an hour-glass shaped 11.5 oz aluminum can. That's what got my to buy it in the first place. Delicious, rich taste of mocha coffee.

Manhattan Special

Manhattan Special : 5/10/2003: Not bad at all! This espresso drink is like drinking coffee but without the heaviness. It's got a thin taste like a fruit soda. It is a little stronger than I like my coffee, though.
I have had another one since my original score and it was terrible. I've downgraded this soda by one thumb - now it's only a 4.

Caferazzi

Caferazzi : 3/28/2007: Not bad! It's a little creamier than I prefer my chilled coffee, but a great mini beverage. Perfect with a snack.

Americas Best Viennese Mocha

Americas Best Viennese Mocha : 3/24/2003: This "iced coffee" isn't iced at all, and it comes in a 15oz can. I tried it at Trader Joe's on a whim - only 75 cents. Well worth the investment! This is almost as good as the Starbucks Mocha in the bottle. You get almost 2x as much for less than half the price!

Bryan Rating: 9 - Good and cheaper than a Frappacino. Trader Joe's discontinued. Cannot find it anywhere.
